Hi,

This is my workflow and how images are uploaded to GotYou, this is for on line sales only.

I will use an example of a school prom, of 200 children shot in full length (ideally and space allowing)

This is my set up HERE

When returned I copy the image to a folder and name as per the job. e.g. Abbots

Use http://www.irfanview.com/ (or what ever you want to use to get the same end result) so that I can always identify an image to a photograpger .  Rename the images with you intials so img_001.jpg become MJ_001.jpg.  The help in irfanview is good (use batch rename), but be carefull it can be unforgiving.

Burn the high res images to DVD, label or clearly write the job, date, and your name.

Create a new folder called Abbots_low

Save the renamed files to the Abbots_low folder at 512×512 (keep aspect ratio) @ 72 dpi.

Within the folder Abbot_low create sub folders holding about 200 image each.  Name the sub folder “FOLDER 1″ or by the time of photograph being taken.  e.g 8pm to 9pm.

It always best of course to present good image for sale, I always find it best to give the image a quick clean to get rid of any wrinkles in the floor, edges of backdrop or crop.  I have a few PS action set up, on F10 is autolevels, sharpen and save.  I then open up any obvious images (50 at a time if i need to)  that needs any adjust.  If you spend more than 5 seconds on an image your doing something wrong.

Black and White

This is your call, but i do find it works on some jobs.

Create a new folder called Abotts_B&W.

I use Irfanview again, Advanced Function, From the recently PS images save to this folder, but as grey scale.  Also at that time using Batch Rename append the original file name with BW.  So MJ_001.jpg becomes MJ_BW_001.jpg.

Rename the Folder to Folder_1_Black_&_White

On some jobs it can be worth the effort, and it only takes a ferw mintes to do.

File name or folder names must not have spaces, always use an underscore _.

The end result

One folder called the job Abbots_low

With this sub folder would be 10 folder (1000 images taken)

Folder 1 -5 (image

Folder  Black & White 1-5 (optional)

Zip the folder, and upload to www.GotYou.co.uk/upload
